
Tot Ballet/Tap - 3-4 Year Olds (45 minutes)
The
youngest student is introduced to the joy of dance and
movement through age appropriate stretching to begin
class, creative expression through dance/storytelling
and tempo, shapes and speed of movement. Approximately a
third of each class is an introduction to Tap dance.

Creative Ballet/Tap - 4-5 Year Olds (45 minutes)
A
continuation of the class content of the Tot Ballet
class, with additional levels of difficulty added for
the students as they get older.

Pre-Ballet/Tap - 5-6 Year Olds (45 minutes)
The warm
up period of class is continued with more emphasis on
the growing knowledge of French terms for ballet. The
students in level “Pre” are challenged with more gross
motor skills that challenge both left and right
movement. Tap introduces shuffle, flaps and rhythmic
marching.

Tap I - 6-8 Year Olds (1 hour)
This class
teaches basic tap dance steps at the introductory level
for young students. The positions of the feet and simple
tap combinations are introduced. Students who have
attended Pre-Ballet Tap are given faster and more
difficult steps as they progress. Students are given
time for creative expression in addition to structured
activity.

Tap II - 8-9 Olds and Up (1 hour)
This class
continues to teach students the fundamentals of basic
tap dance steps and terminology. The students are
educated and inspired so that they will desire to
continue with dance, progressing to the next levels.

Tap III - 11-12 Year Olds and Up (1 hour)
This one
hour class is designed to focus on intermediate
percussive footwork. Students will progress into
increasingly more complex rhythmic patterns, routines
and develop synchronization techniques.

Tap IV/V - By Teacher Placement (1 hour)
A one hour
class designed for more of the advanced student. The
students will concentrate on complex athletic rhythms
and various styled combinations. These learned steps
will be incorporated into highly developed routines.
Students will participate with decisions on
choreography.

Modern II/III - 8-12 Year Olds and Up (1 hour)
This class
is designed for the beginning & intermediate student who
is interested in expanding their experience as a dancer.
Students learn body awareness and placement, as well as
different qualities of movement, direction, focus, etc.

Modern IV - By Teacher Placement (1 hour)
For the
more mature intermediate & advanced intermediate student
who is ready to explore the inspirations for dance,
(music, emotion, story or abstract movement.)
